Rainbow Day 2018

Date: Friday 9th February 2018

What is it?: This is a whole school event, organised by the PSA, where every child is encouraged to come to school dressed-up in as many colours as they can, with family and friends sponsoring them.

Aim: The aim of the event is to wear as many colours as possible and to collect as much sponsorship money as possible. For the competitive amongst you, think lots of layers and stripes!

Top Tips:

  • Nail polish, hats, outer coats, bags, hair accessories, wigs, vests and pants do not count.
  • Shoes, socks and scarves do count.
  • Red on your top & red on your trousers counts as two colours. Different shades of a colour count as extra too. No paint swatches etc.
  • Remember the spirit of Rainbow Day – lots of fun dressing-up in lots of layers and colours!

The Rainbow Cup – The KS1 & KS2 classes wearing the most colours, wins a Rainbow Day Cup. The cups will be presented to the two classes by William in a fun Rainbow Day Assembly on Friday 9th February.

Rosettes – The boy and girl in each class who wears the most colours will win a special Highgate Primary Rainbow Day 2018 Rosette, also presented by William in the Rainbow Day Assembly.

Plus prizes for the child who has the most (different) sponsors & the child who raises the most sponsorship money, counted after the event.

Volunteers: We will need helpers in the morning from 9.00 – 10.00 am.  At least four from each class – please let your class rep know.

Sponsorship: Sponsor forms and guidance came home with the children in bags last week.
Sponsor money due in by Friday 2nd March please.

Why?: We are collecting for The Green Walkway in the Upper Playground; to transform the concrete into a green, biodiverse and beautiful space.
