Nursery Admissions

Children attend Highgate Primary Nursery in the school year in which they have their fourth birthday. The majority of children will start in the September after they turn three. Children may be admitted in the January if places are available.


  • Morning Session 9.00 – 12.00
  • Lunchtime 12.00 – 12.30 (includes hot meal)
  • Afternoon Session 12.30 – 3.30


Every family is eligible for 15 hours free childcare a week and from September 2017, some families for 30 hours free childcare a week. You can choose the type of Nursery place, subject to availability, which suits your family:

  • Part time, either morning or afternoon, five days a week.
  • Part time, with the option of full time top-up places.
  • The 30 hours a week free childcare scheme (subject to proof of eligibility).
  • The 30 hours a week free childcare scheme (subject to proof of eligibility) with the additional lunchtime half hour.


  • Additional Sessions – £32.50per 3 hour session.
  • Lunchtime Half Hour – £5.50 (includes a homemade, hot meal, freshly prepared by our School Chef)


Applications should be made by the end of February in the calendar year that the child is due to start nursery. They will be processed during March and parents will be informed by the end of March if their child has a September place.

If the Nursery places are oversubscribed, the Haringey admissions criteria will be applied. They are listed on the application form for your reference.

January places, if available, will be offered by the beginning of November. If a place is not available your child will be placed on our waiting list.
