Festive Run a Mile

On Wednesday 20th December at 8.25am we will be holding a special Festive Run a Mile to celebrate a fabulous first term but also to raise funds for an extraordinary charity, The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. They need to build The Ark, a specialist, new building which you can read more about here. So, whether you are a Run a Mile regular, or a complete newbie, please come along in force and let’s make this the biggest Run a Mile of the year. Bring festive attire and please donate generously.

Over 2000 miles in total have been completed at Run a Mile this term which is huge achievement by over 40 parents, 10 staff and 177 children who have joined in. Ten children received medals for running the equivalent of a marathon and many parents, staff and children have achieved half a marathon.

6RB came top of the class leadership board for KS2, pipping 6EH to the post by only 2 miles and 2BJD were top class for KS1, beating 1CW by only 8 miles. And we must mention the parents who impressively finished 4th on the leadership board overall.

The enthusiasm, determination and joy that fills the playground four days a week before school is uplifting for the whole school community. Thank you to all the parents, children and staff for your support and we look forward to many more miles in 2018!
